 The advantages and disadvantages of Chapter 4: Web series

During this lockdown period many people started watching web series because they had no other source of entertainment. And nowadays web series is becoming very popular. Many Bollywood/Hollywood stars are now slowly also starting to act in the web series just because of it popularity and today we are going to talk about its advantages and disadvantages.


Web series is not a new thing, but it gained popularity nowadays and I think that web series is the best option for entertainment. Because a movie is only 3 hrs long and a movie has only one story. But in web series' there are many stories and for each story there is one episode. And more or less since every episode is kind of different, the audience gets variety. For example lets take Panchayat, every episode is different and kind of relatable. So since every episode has its own different story people like watching it. Also web series are very good at keeping you tied to the story. They will end the episode in such a way that your curious mind will tell you again and again to watch the next episode. So in this way there are very less chances that you will lose your interest from the web series. Also web series are al ways available in the OTT platform. So you dont need to go to the theater, you can watch it by comfortably sitting at your home.

Now lets talk about the disadvantages. Web series are definitely not for kids. The content is too harsh for them which reduces the audience. They show violence, drug use, slang language for no good reason. Definitely this makes the web series look more real but still they should be used to at least some extent. You cant overuse it right? Why do they have to put a slang in every other line? Why do they have to make action scenes so violent? Also many series are quite controversial. We all know about the recent Tandav controversy. There are very few series which are family friendly like Gullak and Panchayat. Although now government is taking action over these series now. Now this decision is good but also bad at the same time.
